Jr. Specialist
Katherine (Kat) Menendez coordinates and facilitates workshops and other events held within the Center for Regional Change (CRC) Ted Bradshaw Student Engaged Scholar Program, coordinates communication with community partners and UCD students, recruitment and outreach for the program, and more. She also works on research projects for the center.
She has worked as a Mentor for Alumni360, a Los Angeles college-bound program for youth in marginalized communities. She also has worked with migrant youth in Davis, CA at Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School for the Summer BRIDGE program.
She joined the center, as the Program Coordinator, in 2020. A recent UC Davis graduate, with a major in Communication & Stats and an emphasis in ethnographic practices, she appreciates community-based research and working alongside other communities. She currently is working on a project titled "Historias de Familias" and their purpose is to record Mexican families' existence in Yolo County to put into the Records at the Yolo County Library.
