I am a PhD candidate in the English Department with a designated emphasis in Science and Technology Studies.  My research focuses on the way theories from psychology and evolutionary biology get filtered into culture and how the humanities can offer alternative frameworks.  I hope to pursue a career in policy writing.  I’m excited about working with Jackie Cole at Veritable Good to research mortality rates and stress impacts on racial justice advocates in California and beyond.  We plan to complete a report demonstrating the unrecognized costs of this labor as a starting point for thinking creatively about how to support people in the field moving forward.
